Sep03 Travel Nursery 2013
First off…I must announce the winner of our Ivie baby shop credit goes to the lovely Becky Lee. Email me and I’ll give you details.
Now…On to today’s lovely nursery here’s a little from the mother, photographer and nursery decorator Crystal Lindsey.
“Our family loves to travel and my husband and I love collecting vintage items, so this nursery is full of handmade & vintage items! I handmade the crib skirt and the beige cloud pillows from a canvas drop cloth that I picked up at a local hardware store, I added some pom-pom trim to the crib skirt and threading details to the pillows. The yellow chevron cloud pillow & the cloud garland above the changing table came from Revamped Art’s. The Jenny Lind crib & Hot Air Balloon mobile are both from Amazon. I made the “Explore” string art above the crib using a hand drawn design and baker’s twine. The green baskets above the changing table and the herringbone rug are from Urban Outfitters. The gold dot bed sheet & changing pad cover are from Land of Nod, and the black & white strip curtains are from Overstock.com.
A collection of vintage globes & a vintage suitcase that I found at a local flea market adorn the top of the book case. The vintage suitcase even has a STL airport tag dating back to the 1960′s!
The “Live with Passion” screen print embroidery hoop art is from Sweet Harvey’s. The four prints on the gallery wall are from MKKM Design’s. I hand painted the ornate frame at the top and I made the gold embroidery hoop silhouette with some vintage green fabric & gold duct tape. The barn wood hook rail is made from salvaged wood found on our family’s farm & I added 3 drawer knobs from Hobby Lobby.
Last, but not least the mint green chair & round leather ottoman were thrifted.”

Jun10 Modern Nursery: Family Heirlooms 2013
I could probably write a thesis on this adorable nursery..but I’ll spare you. I will just say that my favorite parts of this nursery are all the family heirlooms. The dresser, crib and toy chest were all used by the dad (this is good proof that I should be a pack-rat). I also love the family tree of sorts, with photos of those who have gone before.

May21 Living in Small Spaces 2013
A friend of mine, Natalee Lopez posted a few pictures of her son’s nursery and I stocked her until she sent me the photos. It’s a great nursery is a small space. Here she is:
“We live in a 740 sq ft apartment and found out we were pregnant the month after we moved in! We had signed a 15 month lease so we knew we were just going to have to make this place work. We have ONE closet and a king sized bed, so it was a challenge. We converted our dresser into a changing table and utilized pegboard and baskets above it for storage of diapers and other essentials. We purchased a mini crib that eventually converts into a toddler bed and it fit perfectly into our small space. We used small shelves from IKEA next to the rocking chair to hold bed time books.”
“We wanted the over all theme of the room to be “Adventure” in hopes that our little Theodore (Teddy) would look beyond his everyday life into the world around him and seek adventure!
-The capitan bust and embroidered flower are vintage from a shop in Santa Paula run by a man named Robert who used to be an ad designer for Nordstrom in the 60′s. The shop is called “Treasure Island” and it’s located across the street from the California Oil Museum 1001 E Main St Santa Paula, CA 93060.
-The bear drawing is done by our friend Kyle Naylor, who has had some of his stuff for sale over a Urban Outfitters, but also has a personal shop
-The giraffe bust over the changing table is from Anthropologie.
-The chevron lamp shades are from Target.
-The AMAZING ship clock is Alex’s Abuelito’s. It is also a nightlight and still works!
-The mobile is handmade (by me) with a vintage embroidery hoop and painted gold stars.
-The “Adventure is Out There” plaque was made by me as well as the door hanger.
-Since we only have one closet — we decided to utilize the living room space for some storage. We purchased a wardrobe from IKEA and a LACK bookshelf from IKEA which we turned sideways and made into a storage bench for under the window. It houses some of Teddy’s toys, books, blankets, etc.”
