Sunday evening, my family welcomed my sister’s second baby into the world. We didn’t know what she’d be having, so the event was even more exciting! My youngest sister Brooke shot everything on her iPhone and put together a video that makes me cry every time! I thought I’d share the idea with you, because it’s really as simple as an iphone and an app.

Today I’m excited to share with you a really great service that is an alternative to registering for baby items. Deposit a Gift is a cash gift registry site that allows your friends and family members to give while still allowing you the flexibility to choose what and when you’ll purchase items for you little ones. For new moms, you could use the registry for big ticket items like a stroller, crib or nursery design. You’d also be free to get unique wish list items like perhaps a newborn/maternity session, metallic loafers (I die) or even handmade Etsy items.

Gender Neutral Nurseries (and Blue Zebras)

Yep. Cute with a side of cute. The fabled blue zebra, which only exists in the world of fairy tales, stopped by for a visit. Then it got caught by an over zealous designer and landed itself in this nursery. But it’s okay. Fantasy precludes us from getting too choked up.

I heart cobalt blue (and I never thought I’d hear myself say that!)

When we were little girls, how great was the idea of sleeping under a canopy? Well, here’s a modern and bright take on the canopy from Country Living (via this pin). I infinity adore this idea of bold bright yellow stripes and soft pale blue to ground it all. What a fun room this would be for you little sweet, no?

School is officially out and the summer has begun! I’m sure you’ve got quite a bit more quality time planned with your school age kiddos. One of which must be some major time by the pool. I like well-styled pool time, even if it does only last until they dive their heads under the water.

Hair Scarves for Your Babe

As fashionable moms, I’m sure you are always on the hunt for new ways to make your little girls look like…little girls. Especially in the hair department. Stick on bows and headbands can only go so far, right? Well, when photographer Pam Cooley sent over these images of her client’s daughter, I just flipped. Baby Nora (Nora Grey in fact…I DIE!) has a hair stylist for a mom and a floral stylist for an aunt (Shannon–her aunt–of Bittersweet Florals is responsible for all the styling and florals in this shoot). Stylists like this in the family pretty much means she’s off to a head start, no? This lace gone head scarf is so chic and easy to use for your little girls (and quite easy to DIY yourself!).
